Sports Premium
We believe in the importance of all young people having the opportunity to live healthy and active lives and we know that a positive experience of sport and physical activity at a young age can help to build a lifetime habit of being active. Physical activity has numerous benefits for a child's physical health, as well as their mental wellbeing, and children who are physically active are happier and more resilient. Ensuring that pupils have access to sufficient daily activity can also have wider benefits for pupils, improving behaviour as well as enhancing academic achievement.
The PE and Sport premium funding helps primary schools to achieve this aim, providing them with government funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of the PE, physical activity and sport offered. It is allocated directly to schools so they have the flexibility to use it in a way that works best for their pupils.
At Cotgrave Candleby Lane School, we aim to use the PE and sport premium to do the following:
- Develop or add to the PE, physical activity and sport on offer.
- Build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years.
Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
