Love of Learning

Science investigation

Year Six are learning about the circulatory system in Science. We have started by learning about the composition of blood.  Ask your children what straw-coloured water, red Cheerios, pink marshmallows and white marshmallows represent!

Visit to the Holocaust Centre

Year 6 were a credit to the school on their visit to the Holocaust Centre.  Their amazing knowledge was complemented by the educators and the children asked some brilliant questions.  They were inquisitive, respectful and took pride in sharing their history and RE learning. Well done Year 6!

Performance Poetry

Year 6 have been preparing for Remembrance Day by performing a ballad poem to remember those who serve to defend our democratic freedoms and way of life. We have used this as inspiration for writing our own poetry based around the same theme.

A historical treat!

Year 6 had a historical treat today as one young historian shared primary sources from WW2 including photographs, newspaper cuttings and letters. She demonstrated so much confidence when presenting the information and was eager to answer questions from the other children.

Light

In the autumn term, Year 6 are learning about light in science. This week we have investigated how light travels before we learn how the Dambusters used light during WW2 in their audacious bombing raid to destroy three dams in the Ruhr valley.
