RISE Reception Network
We are proud to be a lead school for the RISE Reception Network programme, an initiative aimed at improving the quality of the reception year and supporting more children to begin school ready to thrive. We are looking forward to starting work with a range of schools across the East Midlands.

Our half‑termly EYFS Virtual Network Meeting will provide an opportunity to connect with fellow practitioners, share ideas, and explore effective, evidence‑informed practice within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Purpose of the RISE Reception Networks Programme
The RISE Reception Networks programme has been created to strengthen early years education across the country and support the government's target of increasing the number of children achieving a Good Level of Development to 75% by 2028.
As part of the initiative, RISE Reception Network Lead Schools work collaboratively with other settings to share successful approaches, promote professional learning opportunities, and contribute to the ongoing development of high-quality early years practice at a national level.
Our role at CCLS
As a RISE Reception Network Lead School, we serve as a centre of excellence for Reception practice within our region. Through this role, we:
- Host half-termly online network meetings that encourage the sharing of ideas and collaborative professional development.
- Organise termly open days and school visits, providing opportunities for practitioners to observe effective Reception practice and engage in professional dialogue.
- Create and share high-quality resources to support Reception teachers and practitioners in their settings.
- Support schools in reviewing and developing Reception provision by sharing effective strategies and evidence-informed practice.
- We work alongside national hubs to help promote high standards, consistency, and continuous improvement across the early years sector.
