School & Nursery Closure - Procedure

In the event of a school or nursery closure during the school day, we will send a text and email all parents to advise them of this.   If you need a different adult to collect your child from school or nursery please email the school office office@candlebylane.co.uk to let us know.  There will always be staff at school and nursery until all children have been collected. 

If the school has to be closed in the morning before the start of the school day, we will send a text and email all parents to advise them of this.

Where possible, please try not to ring the school office to ask if the school will be closed.  We will let you know via the systems above.  If you have not heard school or nursery will be closed via text, email or by a message on the school website, we will be open.  

Please ensure that the office has your up-to-date phone number and email address.

School Times

Start of the day

We have a 10 minute drop off window from 8.40am until 8.50am. Lessons will start promptly at 8.55am. Any child who arrives in the drop off window will be provided with warm-up work to do before lessons commence.

End of the day

The 10-minute end of the day collection window is from 3.20pm until 3.30pm. Children who have permission to walk home alone will be dismissed at 3.20pm. Learning will end at 3.20pm.

School Milk

Milk is the ideal mid-morning drink for your child and for many it’s absolutely free.

• FREE for children under the age of five
• FREE to children receiving or entitled to statutory free school meals
• Subsidised for all other children in primary education
