Today in history, year 4 learnt about the life of Boudica. After exploring who she was and why she became such a significant figure in history, the class worked in groups to create a practical timeline of key events from her life. They enjoyed collaborating to put the events in the correct order, developing their teamwork skills while deepening their understanding of this remarkable leader from the Roman period.

Today, the children in Year 4 were visited by a Roman Centurion to experience what life was like as a soldier in the Roman army. The Centurion introduced them to Latin words so they could identify the equipment carried by a Roman soldier.
The children then took part in a range of activities, including learning about Roman hygiene routines, cleaning armour, playing games such as knucklebones, and even practising Roman writing.
In the afternoon, the children had the chance to handle some primary sources and finished the day by practising real Roman battle formations. It was a fun and memorable day where everyone learned lots about life in the Roman army!

Today, the children enjoyed the opportunity to become scientists by working collaboratively to construct a simple digestive system. The children investigated and constructed the digestive system using household items such as; tights, orange juice and biscuits. During each step, the children had the opportunity to discuss the processes needed in order for the digestive system to work effectively.
