Look back with pride and forward with confidence

Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

Welcome back to our final term in year 3!

We are looking forward to more excitement during the summer term. We have lots of exciting activities planned, including our long-awaited sleepover!

On this page you can find out what we will be learning about, links to help you with your learning and photos and examples of our work.

Enjoying the snow! 02.03.18

In the Spring term we will be learning all about The Legend of Robin Hood.

We will be starting the new year by creating our very own 'Robin Hood raps'. We will explore existing raps all about Robin Hood and then create our own raps. Once we have carefully crafted our writing, we will perform our raps to each other. Later in the term, we will be learning about legends as a text type and eventually write our own legend.

We've been thinking about Remembrance Day in Year 3.

As part of our instructions learning, we have baked Remembrance Day biscuits all together. We will be writing our own instructions about how to bake these. We had lots of fun and it was very messy!

Our new topic is Viva L'Italia

In Autumn 2, we will be learning all about the Romans. We have some very exciting things planned including Roman Day on Friday 1st December. Remember to dress as a Roman for this exciting experience.

We recently made an 'Edible Roman Road' and rewrote the instructions. This was really fun and made a big mess!

There was cake and kit kats on the outside to make the foundations. There was rice crispie 'gravel' and chocolate chip 'stones' in the middle. On top we put biscuit 'flat stones' and then we bonded it together with marshmellow fluff!

We loved our Rainforest Topic

We worked really hard on our Rainforest Adventure stories. We wrote them over a week, edited them, copied them up and created our own books. Take a look below.

Thank you for all of the generous donations towards sponsoring an acre of the Rainforest. The children were really shocked when they learnt about deforestation so it is wonderful that they've come together to do something positive.
