Week 2 - wb 27th April

In this section we have a variety of activities that are for the week (should you choose). By clicking on the images below will take you directly to the White Rose Maths website. Here you will just have to scroll down the page to find the video you require (video name is same as shown on school website) where both the resource sheet and answer sheet are present. Simply watch the video first and have a go (the activities can be done on plain paper if you don't have a printer).

Activity 1 - (Four operations with length)

Activity 2 (Problem Solving)

Activity 3 (Place value re-cap)

Watch the video below of Mr Moss explaining how numbers are made up of tens and ones. Practise drawing two digit numbers in tens sticks and ones.

Can you draw the following numbers 74, 32, 18, 64 and 91?

Can you think of a way to draw these using 10p and 1ps? or maybe could you use a part whole model or bar model?

Once you have completed this activity complete the quiz on 2Do purple mash - place value quiz.

Activity 4 (transferring 10s)

Watch the video that Miss Cooper has created explaining how 10s can be moved to make new number sentences.

You might want to follow along by using 10s and 1s.

You could use anything in your home to represent these for example: pasta, sweets, crayons, buttons and much more.

Attached below is a sheet of part whole models that you could print and use or you can draw them yourself.

Now the video has finished have a go at splitting these numbers into 10s and 1s. Record your number sentences and move a 10 across 1 at a time.

42, 31, 65.

Once you have completed this activity complete the quiz on 2Do purple mash - place value moving 10s.

Place value - moving 10s

This video explain how we can split a number into 10s and 1s using a part whole model. Using this we can transfer 10s to make number sentences.

Activity 5 - Challenge

Today is a maths challenge. Challenge 1 and 2 is aimed at our year group. If you are feeling confident you could maybe also try challenge 3.
