Spanish

¡Hola!

Lesson 1: El alfabeto y los números

In this lesson we are going to learn about where Spanish is spoken in the world and we are going to learn the Spanish alphabet as well as numbers 1-10. You will need some paper and a pen or pencil for this lesson.

Lesson 2: Introducing yourself in Spanish

In this lesson, we will recap our alphabet and numbers from last week, then we are going to learn how to greet people and introduce ourselves in Spanish! We will learn how to say our name and age in Spanish. For this lesson, you just need your brain and your voice! But you might want a pen and paper handy in case you want to write anything down.

Lesson 3: Saying your birthday in Spanish

In this lesson, we will recap our numbers and alphabet, as well as saying our name and age in Spanish. We will then expand our number knowledge to learn the numbers up to 31 and the months of the year in Spanish, so that we can say the date of our birthday in Spanish! For this lesson you will need some paper and a pen or pencil.

Lesson 4: Saying the date in Spanish

In this lesson, we will recap our knowledge from last week and we will build on our knowledge by learning the days of the week. We can then use this, as well as our previous knowledge of months and numbers, to say the date in Spanish! For this lesson you will need some paper and a pen or pencil to write down your new vocabulary.

Lesson 5: Saying how you feel in Spanish

In this lesson, we will recap our previous learning and then learn how to say different emotions in Spanish. By the end of the lesson we will be able to say how we feel in Spanish! You will need a pen and paper for this lesson.

Here is a list of activities to practice your Spanish while home learning:

  • Write a list of your ten favourite words and look them up in Spanish using an online dictionary such as www.spanishdict.com
  • Make flashcards to label items around your home and teach them to your family. You learn so much when you are teaching!
  • Watch 'Mi Vida Loca' on BBC Languageshttp://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/spanish/mividaloca
  • Research a Spanish speaking country. Make a presentation to your family to teach them all about it.
  • Look up a traditional Spanish dish and make it at home with your family.
  • Make a Spanish dictionary by folding an A4 sheet of paper to make a booklet. Record all the words that you know. Can you add to it?
