Welcome back to the Autumn Term 2020.
Our theme this half term is I am Unique! We will be looking at what makes us happy, what our emotions and feelings are
and then looking at our bodies and the 5 senses.
Welcome to Autumn Term 2
This half term we are looking at the theme
'Where do I live?'
We will be starting the term looking at where we live and exploring Cotgrave. We will then be learning about where other children live in the world before moving to look at animal homes and habitats.
Books we will be using will be 'Rosie's walk', learning about routes and maps and plans.
Non Fiction books on house and homes around the world.
'The Gruffalo', learning about habitats of animals.
Non fiction books on habitats and woodlands.
'The Gruffalo's child' and 'Stickman'
and 'The Bear Snores on', A lovely book about hibernation.
Welcome to Spring Term 1
This half term our topic is " Where is colder than here?"
We will be learning about the North and South Poles.
We will be using maps, globes and Google Earth to find out where they are.
We will be using a range of fiction and Non Fiction (fact) books to find out about Artic environments and Artic animals.
Books we are using include: The Polar Bear and The Snow Cloud
Polar Bear, Polar Bear what do you see?
We will also be learning about Artic explorers and pretending to be explorers.
We will be learning about winter sports and the winter Olympics and the various sports that are included.
The last week will be dedicated to Chinese New Year.
