Number explorers
Maths in the Early Years is an important part of child development. As children continue to develop their mathematical skills they will also develop important life skills. Not only does exploring number; what it looks like, how it can represented, maths also provides children with reasoning, problem solving skills and an understanding of shape and measure to develop their own spatial awareness.
We recommend that activities are as practical as possible but understand that this is not always possible. Where there are links to sheets, think how creative you could be with it? Can you use objects from the house or garden to represent the question posed? Examples of these could be stones, pasta shapes, beads, teddies etc the list is endless.
