Welcome Back - Return to School Video
Follow the link below to the Covid-19 Information page to find a video to show you what school will look like if you are returning as a child of a Key Worker or returning year group.
This week we are focusing on Weight and Measures in Maths! This will give you lots of scope for exciting, fun Home Learning! There are some activities on Purple Mash as well. Here are some creative ideas to help with learning:
- Fill up your sink with water. How many cups does it take to fill a saucepan?
- How long is your living room? Bedroom? Garden? Can you count how long it is using footsteps?
- Make a simple recipe using some weighing scales/measuring jugs.
- Learn to tell the time (o'clock and half past!).
- Can you count out some small amounts of money while playing 'shops'?
Don’t forget to send us some photos!!!
You will also find some English activities on PurpleMash related to The Gruffalo!
As always, please email us if you need any guidance for the activities! Take care and stay safe.
Week 1 Staff Photos! We wanted to share some of the fun activities that we have been doing whilst at home!
Dear Parents and Carers,
On behalf of the Year 1 team, we just wanted to thank you all for your kind words of support and encouragement during the last couple of weeks. We have loved teaching and taking care of your children and felt honoured to be able to do this on a daily basis.
During the school closure there are a variety of learning opportunities available to you, that you can enjoy discovering with your child.
You could start each morning off with a PE session following the body coach Joe Wicks.
It would be helpful if you could support your child with phonic sessions, activities will be uploaded to the Year 1 page and you could use www.phonicsplay.co.uk Username : march20 Password : home
We will set English and Maths activities on Purple Mash that can be seen by your child’s class teacher. https://www.purplemash.com/sch/Cotgrave
We would encourage you to hear your child read regularly and tell them stories. It would be lovely for children to experience a variety of activities such as yoga, dough disco, cooking, drawing, painting, craft and playing.
Wishing you all the best and please contact us if there is anything that we can help you with.
Many thanks,
The Year 1 Team
