Welcome to Summer term 1 !
Well, the weather certainly doesn't feel like summer ! But here we are starting our Summer term in Foundation 1.
A very big welcome to all our new starters this term. Some who will be with us for another year and some who will be starting at school in September.
We have been really impressed at how well you have all settled in and are making new friends.

We will be looking at
It's all things wriggling, slithering and crawling this half term!
We will be using books such as:
The very hungry caterpillar, The very lazy ladybird, and Super worm!
Later in the term we will be looking at fruit and the stories,
'Handa's Surprise' and 'Oliver's Milkshake'
Along side topic work we will be continuing with our pre-writing skills, gross and fine motor skills, our phonics sessions and lots of art and craft! not to mention, many fun counting and maths games!
Let's keep our fingers crossed that the sun gets his hat on and comes out to play!
Summer term 1
Welcome back to spring term 2!
We hope you all had a lovely half term break.
We are excited to be back as we have many fun activities planned around our Spring topic.

This half term we will be outside in the gardens. If your child does not have wellington boots in school, it would be great if you could pop some in to save muddy shoes!
We will be planting and growing in the garden over the course of the half term. If any of you are keen gardeners and fancy popping in to help that would be great!

We hope that you all had a relaxing festive period.
Mrs Wilcock is now on Maternity leave, and we all wish her the best for what lies ahead.
Mrs Dowse and I are very happy to be teaching the week together and are looking forward to lots of exciting topics and activities in the coming term.
This half term we have been looking at Winter.
We have been looking at cold climates and Polar regions.
We have talked about hot and cold colours, Polar animals, dressing for the weather, snow and ice and freezing and melting.
Have a look at the photos below to see our displays and some of the art work we have done. Pop in at pick up and see the children's amazing art work!
In Maths we have been looking at sizes and patterns as well as everyday counting and recognising numerals.
We have started Jolly Phonics and so far we have covered

Welcome back to an exciting new school year!
We would like to welcome back all the children staying in Foundation One for another year and to extend a warm welcome to all the new children who will be joining us.
We are welcoming new children into the Nursery throughout the year. Children are eligible for a Nursery place the term after their third birthday. The school is accepting part-time, sessional places of 15 hours a week, to be taken in either 5 morning or 5 afternoon sessions from 8.50-11.50 am and 12.30-3.30 pm. Please get in touch if you would like to come and visit our Foundation One class.
