Design your own education app to help children learn. Create an advert to persuade people to download it. Think carefully about the persuasive features we have look at over the last few weeks.

Persuasive checklist:

  • Snappy slogan (e.g. Have a break have a KitKat)
  • Rhetorical question (e.g. Creme egg - How do you eat yours?)
  • Appealing adjectives (e.g. Flake - only the crumbliest, flakiest chocolate tastes like chocolate never tasted before)
  • Exaggeration (e.g. Cadbury - The nation's favourite)
  • Tempting description of benefits (e.g. Andrex - soft, strong and very, very long)
  • Wordplay (e.g. Dax - the soap you can believe in)

Wednesday 25th March - Create a film review

Watched any good films whilst you've been at home? Or can you be super creative and think up your own film idea?

Your task is to write a review for a film you've seen or would like to see. Think about some of the following points when writing:

  • What is the title of the film and who directed it?
  • What is the film about? Remember you need to give enough information to make people curious but don't ruin the film!
  • Did you enjoy the film? Were you on the edge of your seat? Was it actually quite boring?
  • Would you recommend this film to anyone else? Who?

Thursday 26th March - Design a newspaper article about a local superhero

Could you write about a fictional superhero that saves the day? Or what about a real local super hero in our community - someone who has really gone above any beyond to make a difference?

A disaster has happened and someone has saved the day. It is your job as our newly employed Cotgrave Reporter to make sure you report on the event accurately. Think about...

  • Where did the rescue happen?
  • When did the rescue take place?
  • Who was the superhero rescuing and what danger were they in?
  • Were there any witnesses? Did they see what happened?
  • How did they perform the rescue? Was it difficult?
