Early Years Information

Oh the places you will go...

What makes us unique?

'When allowed to flourish, each child's pretend play is unique - like fingerprints'. Susan Linn

Welcome to our stunning nursery where we offer wonderful opportunities for your children to explore, laugh, invent, discover and be who ever they want to be. We work to support your children to have a love of learning and provide lots of opportunity for them to showcase their talents and interests. Our highly qualified team provide a warm and inviting setting, allowing children to settle quickly. We work with parents and children to build strong partnerships and support your child to reach their potential.

Learning in action!

'Play is the highest form of research'. Albert  Einstein

Play is an essential part of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), it underpins all aspects of children's development. Play is something children do naturally as they explore and discover their surroundings from birth. As adults, we help to stimulate and support children to unleash their knowledge, understanding and experiences. We provide opportunities to guide children to reach beyond their current limits supporting them through this journey. Working as a partnership with children means we can enjoy the curiosity of learning and the thrill of learning as they discover what they know and what they want to find out more about.

Too infinity and beyond!

'The wider the range of possibilities we offer children, the more intense will be their motivations and the richer their experiences'. Loris Malaguzzi

Our community is very important to us and we want children to grow with an understanding of what it means to be a local and global citizen. We strive to provide unique opportunities which allow our children to discover our world and local community through our farm, visits to the local shops and library, forest school and intergenerational projects. Being part of our 'Candleby Family' allows us to take part in special events and use the large facilities to expose our children to new learning and a range of resources.

Partnerships

'Together may we give our children the roots to grow and the wings to fly'.

Parents/Guardians play a central role in a child's life and at Candleby Lane Primary and Nursery our partnership ensures we work together to support your child to achieve to their full potential. We communicate frequently and offer home visits and an induction evening to support your child's transition into our setting. We provide opportunities to share and engage in play with your child through our open afternoons. We have an open door policy, so there are frequent times to have informal discussions during drop off and pick up and also more formal discussions through our termly Parents meetings.

We look forward to supporting you and your child on their journey.
