Yearly overview for F1
In F1 our planning is used flexibly to take in consideration the children's interests and the different ways the children learn. We use observations of children, child and parent voice and their interests to build a curriculum that caters for our unique children. We use academic research to support our curriculum and strive to create an environment which challenges the natural curiosity of the children and build and extend their vocabulary.
Characteristics of effective learners.
We support children to become independent learners who have the confidence to strive to achieve their full potential, we use the 'Achievasaurs' to support the 'Characteristics of effective learners' which is a thread which supports high quality learning in our setting.
7 areas for of learning.
There are 7 areas of learning and development which are planned for across the week through a range of activities. These areas of learning ensure a holistic development of children and their skills across the curriculum, building on their previous learning experiences, knowledge and skills. Through their play children can practise their learning, play with ideas, experiment, take risks, solve problems, and make decisions. First hand experiences allow children to develop an understanding of themselves and the world in which they live. The development of the children's self- image and feelings of self-worth and self -esteem are at the core of the curriculum.
