Class 5S
Year 5's trip to Perlethorpe
Yr5 stitch head

Egyptian day
Welcome back to Year 5!
Are you ready to find out about lots of different Heroes and Villains?
We have some great activities lined up for this term. Already we have met Stitch Head. Do you think he is going to be a hero or a villain? Why? What have you found out about these strange characters?
Who is your hero?
Why?
Are they famous or have they done something great?
We hope you have had a great time with your families over the holiday and are looking forward to coming back to school and seeing everyone. This term we have got lots of exciting things to look forward to; a trip, a performance, book week and an author visit and cycling proficiency training. As you know we will be learning all about life during the Second World War. Perhaps someone you know has some information or an object you can bring into school which will help us with our learning.
We have been busy sorting out the classrooms and we hope you will be excited to see them and keen to learn in them. Even our growing zone has been busy growing lots of vegetables for us. Did you know that during the war some food was limited and hard to buy, so being able to grow your own vegetables was really important?
There are lots of things for you to find out, but the first thing you need to do is to show us you have been reading this blog. Just like the spies during the war, we need a code word for you to whisper to us. Anyone who whispers the code word will receive 10 raffle tickets. Remember to whisper though! In the war people were very careful what they said in case the enemy was listening. The code word is ***********. He was the prime minister of Britain when the war began. Can you find out? Don’t tell anyone else… remember, careless talk costs lives!
