What is Arts Award?
Arts Award is...
- a great way for children to be inspired by and enjoy the arts
- a nationally recognised qualification offered here at two levels: 'Discover' and 'Explore'
- a framework for learning new skills and sharing them
- an opportunity to develop creativity and leadership skills
- a link between children and creative arts professionals
Congratulations to all of our Arts Award achievers so far!
Miss Ford would like to say a HUGE congratulations to all of the Year 5 and 6 pupils who have successfully passed their 'Explore' level Arts Awards. As an entry level 3 qualification, this is a great achievement that you should all be incredibly proud of.
Well done to all of you!
Pupils in Years 5 and 6 visited the Lakeside Arts Centre to explore the Elisabeth Frink exhibition. We sketched a range of different sized sculptures and enjoyed finding links between them.
Pupils from Years 5 and 6 have enjoyed an exciting visit to Nottingham Contemporary Gallery to explore the theme 'Alien Encounters'. We looked at different types of art and loved listening to different music in the second gallery.
Pupils in Year 3 and 4 have begun their Arts Award Adventure!
This week we learnt that art is everywhere! We are developing our values of creativity and pride through our arts logs.
This week we painted negative images of trees.
Please take a look!
Pupils in Year 3 and 4 are busy working towards their Arts Award in Candleby Life.
We were lucky to have a local artist come and teach us how to sketch hair. We looked at her pictures and she taught us some new sketching techniques. First, we practised on small paper and then on A3 as we became more confident. We have used different grades of pencil to create depth in our sketches. Have a look at our learning journey!
