We've had great fun today making our polymers and investigating them.
We found out that a polymer is inbetween a liquid and solid. When the polymer is pulled slowly it will continue to stretch and act like a liquid.
When the polymer is pulled quickly it will break into 2 pieces. It behaves like a solid.
We found out that when the polymer is warm, the molecules in it get excited(receives energy) and move around more quickly. This causes the polymer to 'run' and behave more like a liquid. This is why some of our slime was 'runnier' than others.
I've added a link to the instructions as I know lots of you wanted to make some more at home!
